STRUCTURED RECOVERY SUPPORT
HBOT-40 Protocol
A structured 40-session HBOT programme designed to support long-term recovery, resilience and wellbeing at Kubo Wellness in Derby.
Why a 40-session protocol
The 40-session format reflects the format often seen across HBOT research, clinical settings, and longer-established oxygen practices around the world. Rather than approaching sessions more occasionally, it creates a clearer rhythm and a more defined framework over time.
At Kubo, that structure is delivered in a way that still feels calm, personal and realistic. The aim is not to make the experience feel rigid or clinical, but to offer a more considered pathway for those wanting to approach HBOT with greater consistency.
How the Protocol Works
HBOT-40 is built as a solo protocol of 40 sessions, usually taken at a more regular pace than standard bookings. Many clients complete it over around 8 to 12 weeks, often with 3 to 5 sessions per week, though the exact rhythm can be shaped around your schedule and circumstances.
You can choose either 60-minute or 90-minute sessions for the full protocol, depending on the format that feels most appropriate and manageable for you.
Protocol at a glance
The advantages of a structured block
The distinction is not only the number of sessions, but the regularity of the approach. HBOT-40 is designed to give the therapy a steadier place in your routine, rather than leaving it to occasional booking.
Clearer than occasional visits
Rather than dipping in and out of HBOT, the protocol creates a clearer and steadier rhythm. That makes the approach more consistent, easier to follow, and more predictable.
A more intentional pathway
A defined 40-session structure creates a clearer sense of progression. We help shape the schedule around your routine, making the protocol easier to sustain.
The benefit of consistency
Repeated HBOT supports deeper physiological adaptations over time, including blood vessel growth, stem cell mobilisation, mitochondrial function and immune support.
Where HBOT-40 can offer support
This more structured format is one reason HBOT is used around the world for a wide range of recovery, health and longevity goals, with support often explored across the areas below.

Recovery and repair
Often explored to support physical repair, restoration, exercise recovery, and more demanding athletic or performance goals, including training load and recovery capacity.

Energy, resilience and sleep quality
For some, the focus is on supporting day-to-day energy, physical resilience, sleep quality, vitality, overall quality of life, and a greater sense of capacity.

Cognitive and neurological support
Also explored in support of brain health, cognitive function, healthy brain ageing, and greater resilience in the context of neurological conditions such as dementia.

Long-term wellbeing
For some, the appeal lies in a clearer, more intentional approach to longer-term wellbeing and longevity, through the broader adaptations HBOT supports over time.

After injury, trauma or surgery
Also used following physical injury, surgery, trauma and forms of brain injury, including repeated head trauma and CTE, where a more structured approach may be beneficial.

Support alongside treatment
Sometimes used alongside medical care in chronic conditions and complex health contexts, with the aim of supporting resilience, recovery and the body more broadly.

The Kubo experience
Although HBOT-40 is more structured, the experience at Kubo still feels calm, personal and easy to settle into. Sessions take place in our private Derby wellness lodge using professional-grade equipment, with clear guidance, thoughtful pacing, and a space that feels relaxed, comfortable and welcoming.
For a longer protocol, that atmosphere matters. It helps you build a rhythm that feels realistic to maintain, with support that is attentive, approachable and shaped around your routine.
Who this pathway may suit
HBOT-40 is not the only way to approach HBOT more deliberately. Some people build a similar rhythm through packages or memberships, but this pathway is designed for those who want a clearer plan from the outset, with more structure and support around how the sessions are organised.
You want structure from the outset
You would rather follow a defined pathway than decide session by session what to book.
You want help organising the rhythm
You like the idea of a more regular HBOT rhythm, with support around spacing and planning.
You are ready for a focused block
You are open to a more deliberate short-term rhythm in order to approach HBOT more intentionally.
You see HBOT within a wider plan
You see the protocol as part of a broader recovery, resilience or wellbeing approach.
Choose your session length
Both options follow the same 40-session structure. The main difference is how long you want each chamber session to be, and how that fits your schedule, comfort and preference.
